Is this legal?
Yes! Your nautical visit to Cuba is legal under the Office of Foreign Asset Control. The rally is sailing under OFAC general license 515.565(b) Educational, People-to-People Group Travel. Each person must engage in a land package with a full schedule of approved activities to engage with the Cuban people, dine in private restaurants and tour with a private guide and driver. Please click on the tab above under "Land Packages" for more information.
Carlson Maritime Travel is presently OFAC compliant and also holds a license from the U.S. Department of Commerce for "vessel export" to Cuba.

Our Rally Captain
The Key West - Havana Rally's lead master captain is Captain Steve Sharkey of
Ft. Lauderdale Florida. He is the owner of several marine related businesses and along with a 100 ton license, brings experience and knowledge to the Key West-Havana Rally. He just recently returned from captaining a yacht to and from Marina Hemingway- services provided by Carlson Maritime Travel. Captain Steve fell in love with Cuba!
